Most information available to REALTORS® regarding YouTube pertains to giving virtual tours. While these tours are a definite must for any agent, this is only one use of a very valuable tool.

Here are five ways YouTube can help you build your brand and establish trust with potential clients.

  1. Market Updates – Being an expert means knowing the local market. Regularly updating people on market conditions in a simple and brief report establishes you as the trusted guide through the challenging tides of real estate.
  2. Testimonials – Nothing builds consumer confidence like the feedback of someone who has already used your services…Try shooting a video of clients in their new home talking to the camera about their experience with you at the helm.
  3. Home Buying Tips – According to the 2011 National Association of REALTORS® Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, 88 percent of home buyers search the internet for their potential home. Giving these people a few hints to point them in the right direction will help them remember you when it comes to choosing the right agent.
  4. Welcome Video – A key component to success in this business is the manner in which you foster your relationships. Start off on the right track with a video introduction and let the people get a sample of you and your style.
  5. Social Networking – Alongside Facebook and Twitter, YouTube is a social networking channel. Study what other people are putting out there and comment on the videos you see. Also use it to beef up your blog, website, or Pinterest boards. The possibilities are endless.

People Google potential employees every day…why should it be any different for buyers and sellers? Make it easy and show these people exactly what you want them to see before you ever shake hands.

  1. Great post! I Agree. The marketing for realtors I’ve worked for mostly have employed me to effect repairs. Sellers generally do not want to invest much in a property they’re selling. And here is CA, it’s the sellers who pay the realtors, so their wishes are followed. But when repairs are needed, that’s when I’ve gotten most of the work, especially recoats. And as many of you know, recoats are pretty good money makers when comparing time and material to dollars earned.
